Into the thick of it
Blog; noun: A virtual platform that allows for a person to hurl thoughts and ideas into to the unforgiving, yet intriguing, void known as the internet.
Hello!!! My name is Sam. Welcome to my first ever blog post. This is a picture of me, so that you can now connect a real human to the words you are about to read.
The end.
Just kidding, that would be cruel (and also a waste of your time).
I have been toying with starting a blog for quite some time now (over three years). However, I have ADHD and my executive dysfunction said “Sam, you cannot start a blog unless it is fully researched and planned out”. This thought has been aided by my marketing background which says “if you don’t have a central theme or a brand then you will not be successful”.
It has taken me three whole years to discern what my blog will be about.
My blog is about life. Sharing its ups, downs and everything in between. It is my deepest hope that in these fictitious internet walls, we can discover together how to make life a bit less brutal (dare I even suggest joyful).
Now, I am not so niave as to say that I am a fountain of wisdom, but I have been alive for at least 23 years. I also love giving recommendations and unsolicited advice.
The real question is, are you (the reader) willing to take advice from someone who is two feet tall (4’11”) and two years old (23 and 1/2 to be precise)?
If the answer is yes, then I am flattered and humbled. I promise to do my best to be honest, and open about feedback from you (my beloved reader). In return, please do not hate tweet me as I am a mix between a gen z and a millenial and cannot endure unconstructive criticism.
If your answer is no, then that is fine too (I guess). Also, why are you reading this then?
I cannot promise to post with any regular frequency. However I hope that if you have stumbled upon this corner of the internet that you stay for a while, and experience life with me.
Finally, I hope that through this I am able to create a community that respectfully loves and challenges each other to be better humans so we can live our lives to the fullest and inspire anyone put in our paths to do the same.
Until fate, or substacks’ algorithm, brings us together again, I wish you peace, joy, and happiness.
